The Imo State Police Command has arrested a 22-year-old man, Obinna Ugochukwu, for reportedly stabbing his mate to death.
According to the state police command’s spokesperson, SP Okoye, Ugochukwu was detained after a murder case was submitted to the State Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department (SCIID).
Okoye, who paraded the suspect in front of reporters, stated that the Command’s Forensic Experts did an analysis that resulted in the arrest of the suspect, who is from Ikeduru LGA in Imo State.
Okoye stated that during the inquiry, the suspect confessed to repeatedly stabbing his friend Nwachukwu Stanley’m, who belongs from Umuoma in Ikeduru L.G.A. of Imo State, on the top portion of his body with a sharp knifes when asleep over a misunderstanding that he failed to give him his cut of 3000 dollars they fraudulently gained in a cyber-crime deal.
The police spokesperson further revealed that the corpse of the victim has been deposited in the morgue, while the suspect will be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
