Benjamin Mendy, a football player for Manchester City, is accused of raping a woman and boasting to a jury on June 28 that he had slept with 10,000 women.
According to the BBC, the French professional is charged with raping the 24-year-old lady at his £4 million property in Mottram St Andrew, Cheshire, in October 2020.
Benjamin Mendy, who will stand trial again at Chester Crown Court, was also charged with attempting to rape a 29-year-old woman who had slept with one of his friends.
This comes after he was cleared in January of several instances of sexual assault against women. He was acquitted of six counts of rape and one count of sexual assault against four women, but the jury was deadlocked on the other two charges.
Benjamin Mendy sexually assaulted one of the ladies at a party at his house in October 2020, according to Benjamin Aina KC, the prosecution’s attorney, who presented the case to the court.
He is accused of taking her phone from the house’s pool area and taking it upstairs to his bedroom while the woman pursued him and yelled for her phone to be returned.
When she told Mendy she wanted to leave, he stated he first wanted to see her naked. In response, the woman told Mendy that she didn’t want to sleep with him and simply wanted her phone back.
Mendy replied that he would return it if she took her clothes off, saying: “I just wanna have a look at you. I promise you I wont touch you. I just wanna see what you look like. I wanna see your body. I wanna see your t***. Your t*** are so big.”
Mendy allegedly threw her on the bed and assaulted her after she stripped naked but left her underwear on.
When she resisted him, he told her she was “too shy,” adding that “It’s fine.” I’ve had sex with 10,000 different ladies.’
After the rape, she left his residence and told her friends and family what had occurred to him.
Benjamin Mendy, on the other side, told cops that he had ‘consensual’ sexual activity with the woman, including oral sex, but that he stopped when she refused to do anything else.
The trial, which might last up to three weeks, is still ongoing.
