After their biological father unexpectedly reappeared in their lives, Nigerian twin brothers reportedly declined a reconciliation with him.
According to Twitter user @Ifeade_Lu, the boys were reared by their stepfather, who treated them as his own after marrying their mother.
However, after both twins received scholarships to Barry University in Florida, the twins’ biological father attempted to contact with them, but they turned him down.
@Ifeade_Lu, their stepfather’s friend, claimed that she is very proud of him for stepping up and caring for the boys after their father abandoned them.
She tweeted,
“A friend of mine got married to a single mother who already had two children, and together they also had their own kids. He treated her children as his own and gave them a loving upbringing.
Recently, twin boys received a full scholarship to Barry University, the biological father unexpectedly appeared and tried to insert himself into their lives.
The children firmly stated that he couldn’t just show up now, as their stepfather had been loving and present in their lives from the start. He had never missed a day and had taught them the importance of love and respect.
I am incredibly proud of my friend for taking on the responsibility of caring for children who weren’t his own. I’m proud of him. And I’m proud of the boys for not being ungrateful.”
