Venita Akpofure of BBNaija has apologized to the Tiv people for defaming them with her snide remark.
Remember Venita’s remark that Tiv men provide their wives to visitors for ‘entertainment purposes,’ meaning that they allow their wives to sleep with their visitors for enjoyment.

This statement infuriated many TIVs, who took to social media to criticize her and advocate for legal action against her.
In reaction, Hon. Dickson threatened Venita with legal action for her statement, as well as the BBNaija organizers for failing to disqualify or censure her for defaming their tribe.”
The mother of two addressed the issue and expressed her sorry for the reckless statements in an interview with media personality Hero Daniels following her removal from BBNaija All Stars.
Venita stated;
“The statement I made about Tiv people got twisted a bit. My daughters are actually Tiv. There’s no way I will be trying to make any kind of malicious or slanderous comment towards their people.
Actually, in my season we did a whole play around the Tor Tiv coronation which I participated in and was super excited about.
So, you know, sometimes you will say something maybe it is a little bit carelessly. And I think it got really misconstrued. And for those that are offended by it, I’m regretful about that.”
