Austin Faani, a Nigerian filmmaker and the husband of famed actress Chacha Eke-Faani, has spoken out about living with a mentally ill partner.
Remember how the mother of four, who has become a strong advocate for mental health concerns, recently opened up about how she copes with bipolar disorder during one of her outreach events?
She described spending days hanging out on Lagos’ beaches, hotels, and streets. She went on to allege that she hopped a boat to Ghana using a fake ID.
The actress went on to say that when she was scared at home about three a.m., she ran to an Asaba motor park and subsequently to Lagos.
Austin Faani related his story, saying how his wife awakened him up at one a.m. with a hard pounding on the mirror. He claimed that his wife had to wake up and break the mirror because people were creeping out of it.
Austin admitted that when his wife’s health deteriorated, he was forced to accompany her to church for prayers.
He talked about where they had been together and what they had done to seek her help before she was eventually diagnosed.
