Mbah Ezinne, a final-year student at Enugu State University of Science and Technology, was discovered dead in her room.
The Anatomy student’s lifeless body was discovered in her home on July 31, 2023, following her apparent absence from church.
On Friday, July 28, Ezinne, who was very involved in church, went to a praise night with her friends. The group returned home at 4 a.m. on Saturday and planned to reassemble in church for the Youth Day events on Sunday, July 30.
According to accounts, Ezinne did not attend church, which concerned her acquaintances. They tried calling her several times, but her phone number was not answered.
According to Chisom Onyedikachi, who talked to Sahara Reporters, after her disappearance, her brother Stephen and other of her friends went to her Enugu flat.
When they arrived on Monday afternoon, they peered through her window and discovered Ezinne and a male companion, who they assumed was her coursemate, resting on the floor.
Her brother attempted to break into the flat but was advised to phone the police first. When the cops arrived, they transported the victims to the hospital, but Ezinne was declared dead while her friend was resuscitated.
According to reports, the male companion is still fighting for his life at a hospital. Friends and family of the deceased hope he recovers and reveals what happened to them.
