Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk, also known as Iyanya, a Nigerian musician and songwriter, has revealed the startling sum he paid to develop and promote his recent hit.
The ‘Kukere’ singer made this disclosure on Twitter while discussing the expensive cost of advertising a single in Nigeria.
According to him, he spent over N52 million to record, film, and promote his hit single ‘Like,’ which featured music superstars Davido and Kizz Daniel.
He also revealed that the most he has spent on song promotion since 2021 is N27 million.
He went on to say that any musician who is fortunate enough to have his song go viral without sponsored advertising should be grateful.
He wrote in a series of tweetss,
“Promoting music has become very expensive, if you are lucky to get a song go viral make you Thank God.”
“The cheapest I have spent on a song since January 2021 is 27m.
When I dropped “LIKE” FT Davido and kizz Daniel, we spent 52 million, song, Video and promotion.
This should not discourage any up-and-coming artiste, you can do it, all you need it’s consistency.”
