Psalms Udoye Abum, a Nigerian studying abroad, caused a commotion in his classroom when his Oyinbo lecturer asked him to come up with a group name and slogan, to which he replied, ‘Idan.
The video, which was originally shared on TikTok, shows the young Nigerian man’s humorous remark, which both perplexes and impresses the lecturer.

The lecturer requested for a group name and motto for a class project, which elicited laughter and disbelief.
Psalms proposed the name ‘Idan’ without hesitation.
The professor, who was unfamiliar with the term, looked perplexed before Psalms added the motto, “Let the poor breathe.”
The lecturer was taken aback by the motto. As he realized what the term meant, he uttered a sincere ‘wow,’ evidently astonished by the creative and amusing choice.
Idan is a popular Nigerian street slang term that means “supernatural,” “exceptional,” “wonder,” “glamorous,” and “fascinating.”
According to Tribune Online, it is a Yoruba term that means “magic” or “charming.”
Nigerians took to social media to express their delight at the video, which they found both hilarious and heartwarming.
